Five minutes if it goes well. The things that go wrong are nearly always one of the first three below.
/reload and upload the file. One-time codes from an officer
are coming but not yet available.| Server | sip.guildphone.com |
|---|---|
| Username | your full line, with the hyphen — it looks
like 8390980-19800, not 839098019800 |
| Password | from Phone settings. Use the copy button; it is not meant to be typed or memorised |
| Port | 5060, transport UDP |
Leave everything else alone. No STUN, no proxy, no transport encryption.
Almost always the missing hyphen. The username is the seven-digit guild code, a hyphen, then your five-digit extension. This is the single most common failure and it was the first one we hit ourselves.
Otherwise, re-copy the password — a stray space on the end of a pasted password fails the same way.
That is a different problem from 401. A 401 means we answered and said no; a timeout means nothing reached us, or our answer did not reach you. Usually:
Your router is forgetting the connection. In the phone's settings look for keep alive or NAT refresh and set it to 30 seconds. Most apps have it; most default to too long.
One-way audio is nearly always the network, not the phone — the call connected, so signalling is fine and only the audio is blocked. A VPN or a restrictive firewall is the usual cause. Try another network.
That is auto-answer plus rank, and it is the one place rank matters.
A line set to auto-answer opens itself for that person's own guild rank and anyone above it. A caller of lower rank makes it ring instead, and cannot drop into a call that is already running. A line set to ring ignores rank completely.
So an officer calling a member may connect instantly while that member calling the officer only makes it ring. Nothing is being refused — both calls go through. It only decides which end opens without being asked.
Across guilds nothing ever auto-connects. A caller from outside your guild always makes your phone ring.
Three possibilities, in order of likelihood:
| A guildmate | their five digits |
|---|---|
| A room | 6 + the eight-digit room number, shown as
6-1234-5678 — the hyphens are not dialled |
| Someone in another guild | 7 + their guild code + their extension |
| Echo test | *43 — hear yourself. Start here |
| Your voicemail | *97 |
Dial *43 first. If you can hear yourself, your phone and
the network are both fine and anything else is a routing question.
/reload and upload the file. Exporting is how you show the
character is yours. One-time codes from an officer are coming, but not
until a code can be checked rather than taken on trust. It only loads on Forever. If you are on Forever and it still is not there,
check the folder is called exactly GuildPhone. Installing through
the CurseForge app avoids this entirely.
/gpdiag in game prints what the addon can and cannot see, which
is the useful thing to include in a report.
Phones go quiet when a device sleeps, and we only find out when the next check fails — so there is up to half a minute of lag after a phone genuinely disappears. If it has been longer than that, the phone has dropped without telling you; toggling the account off and on in the app fixes it.
Tell us: report a problem. Include what you typed and
what it said back, and *43's result if you got that far.
There is no email on file for anybody, so we cannot reply directly — reports are read, but the fix arrives as a fix rather than as an answer.
