A telephone system for your World of Warcraft guild.
Every character gets its own telephone number — ten digits, and it keeps it for good, through gquits, transfers and the guild disbanding. One login behind them all, so ten alts means ten numbers and one handset to configure. Dial a character to reach whoever is playing it.
Guild members get voicemail, a raid line that tells you what is scheduled and signs you up by telephone, and paging. An unguilded character gets a number that rings, and that is the whole of it.
Use it in this browser, or with a softphone, or with a real SIP desk phone — the kind you can buy used for the price of a month's game time.
This is not a telephone line. Guild Phone is a closed network for players and is not connected to the public telephone network.
You cannot call emergency services from it — no 911, no 999, no 112. If you need help, use a real telephone.
You cannot ring an ordinary phone number and nobody can ring you from one. The numbers look like telephone numbers because that is the shape a human can read off a screen; they work here and nowhere else. A desk phone signs in over the internet rather than plugging into a socket in the wall.
Not in a guild yet? Sign in anyway - you get a number and a mailbox in the public pool, and you keep them when you join one.
Get the in-game addon — everyone needs it. Claiming a character means exporting from it in game, and there is no other route yet.
Everything we keep, and why calls are never recorded, is on the privacy and security page.
